Whether you’re curious, grieving, or planning ahead, this gathering invites honesty, vulnerability, and humor around a topic often avoided. Hosted by AFTER THIS, a project dedicated to reimagining how we talk about end-of-life, this event is open to adults of all backgrounds and beliefs. Bring your questions, your stories, or just yourself. Together, we’ll explore mortality as a doorway to deeper living—notin fear, but in community.

Virtual Silent Book Club of Death
Meet up with like-minded readers, silently read a book related to death or loss of your own choosing, then discuss your books afterward. Members are encouraged to bring books related to the theme of death, dying, grief, aging, or mortality, but anyone who wants to just read quietly in a death-conscious space is welcome to join. Folks are welcome to be on or off camera. After the designated reading time, folks are welcome to stay on and share a bit about what they’re reading and connect.

Death over Drafts
Welcome to Death over Drafts-Chattanooga TN! This is a community gathering to spark curiosity & connection around death & dying. Come meet Alexis, Megan, & Michaelene, Chattanooga Death Collective, your local Death over Drafts Co-Crafters! Death over Drafts (Happy Hour) started with a brewing vision to bring people together and create meaningful connections by combining two passions—craft beer and conversations on end-of-life. Every Death over Drafts gathering has a different vibe based on who is co-crafting, aka hosting. While these gatherings provide an opportunity for those who serve in the end-of-life field to gather and reflect personally and professionally when you join us at a Death over Drafts gathering one thing is constant: all are welcome.

Death in New York: Evening Tour
Explore the macabre history of New York City on the “Death in New York: Evening Tour,” a guided walk through the Financial District that uncovers the city’s dark past. From forgotten burial grounds to mysterious epidemics, the tour reveals how death shaped the city’s evolution—from colonial times through modern-day transformations. Led by a licensed guide and NYC history expert, this 90-minute journey offers chilling insights into the ways New Yorkers have confronted mortality, public health crises, and funeral customs over the centuries. Stops include historical cemeteries, plague sites, and places where the city’s rich and poor were separated even in death. Perfect for lovers of true crime, history, and the eerie side of urban life, the tour begins at St. Paul’s Chapel and ends near City Hall. Wear comfortable shoes and prepare to see New York through a haunting and unforgettable lens. Adults only.

Psychedelic Death Cafe
San Francisco Psychedelic Society hosts the Psychedelic Death Cafe. The Death Cafe is a safe place to openly discuss our thoughts and feelings about death, dying, and mortality in a supportive environment. Death affects us all, but discomfort with the subject and social norms make it difficult to explore this important topic in a comfortable and respectful community context. We also welcome discussion about the use of psychedelics as a way to explore the nature of life and death (and beyond) or use of psychedelics at the end-of-life.
